All one piece construction, no external screws
Material:
Push Button Housing shall be cast from aluminum alloy 319 or equivalent, free of voids, pits, dents, molding sand, and excessive foundry grinding marks. The units shall be smooth and intact. Exterior surface finish shall be smooth and cosmetically acceptable, free of molding fins, cracks and other exterior blemishes.
Shall be fabricated from aluminum ingot with minimum as follows:

Design:
The A.D.A. pedestrian unit is of all one piece vandel proof construction, with raised cast legend, eliminating the chance of jagged edges from a sign or external screws. The casting shall be approximately 13 1/4" long with the exreme upper and lower segments molded to fit 3/4" steel banding. ?It shall be also possible to bolt the assembly to a mounting surface by drilling two clearance holes in the center of the Integral banding brackets. Directly below the upper integral bracket shall be an integral plaque approximatly 5" wide and 8" long, with the customer's legend choice, cast into this plaque with raised letters. Also cast within the plaque shall be a cast push button switch housing approximately 3" in diameter. The housing shall of sufficient depth to accomodate the push button switch. The Push Button switch shall be actuated by a 2" die cast aluminum plunger. The Plunger shall be convex to maximixe accessibility. The plunger shall have an integral shaft to actuate the switch. The
Assembly shall be designed so that the maximum plunger travel shall not exceed the switch travel. A protective shroud shall encircle the plunger to discourage vandalism. The shroud shall becast as an intergral part of the button housing. The spring within the switch shall have a maximum contact making force of not more than 3 lbs.. The all one piece design allows adequate space to be drilled and tapped for LED confirmation and 1/2" NPT conduit side entrance. The Assembly shall conform to all minimums set forth by the Americans with Disabilities Act.

Push Button Switch
The push button shall be of normally off-momentary contact type with positive action feature. The body of the switch shall be chrome plated steel case. Silver contacts for extra heavy application, extending it's service life. Contacts rated at 35 Amps at 12 Volts. Hencol seal #10 around junction of terminal and insulator case. The switch is dustproof and weather proof rated, capable of operating in temperature ranges of -65F through +180F, and have a mechanical life of 1,000,000 actuations. Wires terminate to 8/32 terminal screws. Switch is also designed for marine and fire apparatus, and for use in extreme weather conditions.
Exterior Finish
The exterior finish of the assembly shall be painted aluminum. The raised cast legend shall be painted black to provide maximum contrast to the background of the plaque. All paint used shall be of a hard wearing exterior enamel, and oven dried after painting.
